Club Golf

Updated 1st January 2016

The Club expects members, guests and visitors to conform to a standard of dress which is in keeping with the traditions of the game of golf, whilst recognising the ever changing trends in fashion.

To avoid the embarrassment of being denied access to the Club, please ensure that your attire complies with the “smart casual” code which the Club operates.

The dress code does not apply to green-keeping staff, when on duty, or to children under 12 years of age.

Not permitted in the Clubhouse:

  • Soiled clothing of any description
  • Football tops and shorts
  • Tracksuit tops or bottoms
  • Shell suits
  • Combat trousers
  • Sports headwear
  • Golf shoes including those with soft spikes
  • Shoes worn on the course

Not permitted on the Course:

  • Soiled clothing of any description
  • Football tops and shorts
  • Tracksuit tops or bottoms
  • Shell suits
  • Collarless, round necked tee shirts (recognised golf wear is permitted)
  • Combat trousers

Shorts must be tailored

Club employees are requested to enforce the code in a tactful and discrete manner by explaining the infringement whilst continuing to provide service, with common sense being the over-riding criteria in the application of the code. They are also requested to inform the individual(s) concerned that further occurrences of dress code infringement will result in refusal of service.
